Our Story
As strong advocates for healthy first, we set out on a mission to understand sustainable farming and good foods. Our passion for sustainability and home-grown agriculture urged us to go back to the basics and rediscover traditional food practices. Our goal was clear: combine our desire for health first with purpose.
And so, in 2017, we set up our own farm with natural farming to produce the highest quality food free from chemicals throughout the agricultural process - farming that is native to India with centuries of wisdom to benefit from. Slowly and with great care we built a community that promotes healthy living and reaps the benefits of local food. All the while benefiting not only our customers but our farmers, production workers, distributors and the planet too!
Krishna Farms is spread across about 30-acres of pristine, uncultivated land in Telangana that is free of toxic chemicals and pesticides. And now we bring that goodness closer to you at Back to Roots, Jubilee Hills, overlooking one of the largest green spaces in the heart of Hyderabad, KBR Park.
True to the mission of Krishna Farms, BTR continues to source only top-quality products to enable sustainable living for you. Yes, hand-processed products are laborious and more time-consuming, but that’s what makes our products good for you and for the planet.
At Back to Roots, we have created a space that celebrates sustainability in food, homecare, skincare, daily essentials - everything! At the store, we go beyond retail. All our salespeople are from the community and believe in our mission as equal partners; they will help you make informed choices. Additionally, to increase the community’s awareness and commitment to healthier living, we have regular events at the store so people can learn more about sustainable and healthy living beyond simple products.
